Day 80

So today was Passover, which a few of us Jews (of varying levels of legitimacy) decided to bring right here to Italy. We prepared all afternoon and then had everyone over for a big meal. Some people also brought their Italian roommates for their first seder, which was really fun. Here is us preparing the apples for the charoset (a mixture, in our case, of apple, banana, date, sugar, cinnamon and hazelnuts).

We had our own little seder service at Greg and Sarah's apartment which just about fit us all (I think it was around 22 of us) led by Bradley. We fit in the four questions, ten plagues, story of passover and plenty of wine.

For the meal, we had all the usual fixings, except for matzoh ball soup as there was no matzoh meal we could find here, and didn't have time to make it from scratch. We had charoset (with horseradish and matzoh for a "Hillel Sandwich," not pictured), roasted chicken, roasted rosemary potatoes, asparagus, tomato and cucumber salad, and an amaretto fruit salad for dessert. Everything was really delicious and everyone had a great time!
